Those who received the First DMF Excellence Award

A total of 11, including 5 working journalist received the first 'Digital Media Excellence Award-2024' in seven different categories. Digital Growth Editor of Daily Samakal and the General Secretary of Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF) Sabbin Hasan received this award in the ICT category from Digital Media Forum (DMF), an organization of journalists and digital media workers.

In sports category, Yasin Hasan, senior reporter of online news portal RisingBD.com; Yahia Naqeeb, staff reporter of Banik Barta, in business category; Zafar Iqbal, staff reporter of Daily Kalbela, in investigative journalism; and entertainment reporter of RTV, SM Marjan Ivan, received this award in an auspicious program held in Dhaka.

Similarly, Robolife Technologies founder and CEO Joy Barua Lovelu; Dainik Prothom Alo Deputy Manager Bivardhan Roy Imon; Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Mohsin; Next Ventures Founder and CEO and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) Director Abdullah Zayed; Managing Director of Food Chess Catering Md. Rafatul Islam Khan and Dream Managing Director Sabbir Hasan Nasir were also given the DMF Special Excellence Award.

Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Director General Zafar Wazed handed over the medals to the awardees at Biswa Sahitya Kendra in the capital on Saturday (June 1) at 4 pm. General Secretary of Jatiya Press Club and Editor of Dainik Bhorer Kagoj Shyamal Dutta and Professor Robayet Ferdous of Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University were present in the event.

According to a press release sent to the media on Sunday, the content judges were UNB's Special Correspondent Abdur Rahman Jahangir and Daily Sabuj Nishan's News Chief Md. Moksedur Rahman Wali. The guest of honor was Deutsche Welle's Bangladesh Representative Haroon Ur Rashid; Pentagon Group Managing Director Antu Karim, Walroad Traveler Eliza Binte Elahi, United International University Professor Dr. Sheikh Shafiul Islam, Daffodil University of Bangladesh Associate Professor Dr. Md. Jamil Khan, Cumilla University Assistant Professor Kazi Anis, Jagannath University Lecturer Ragib Rahman, ULAB Lecturer Saraj Mehdi, Dhaka Business News Editor Mohammad Nurul Haque, Prothom Alo Digital Business Development Lead Ruhul Amin Roni, Bangla Tribune Head of Sales and Marketing Sirajul Islam Suman, Journalist Mohammad Alam, Business Development Incharge of News Bangla24 Zakaria Hossain Joy and others.
